Google Maps Street View has captured a boy performing a very risky stunt on a coastal road.

He is lying on a skateboard and rolling down the hill without a care for the traffic around him.

Behind him is a tight bend as the road winds around a mountain and a car has come into view.

The boy is right in the middle of the road and is looking forward at the decline below rather than behind.

The worst case scenario here could be a very nasty accident indeed between the oncoming car and the reckless youth.

It seems he is too young to realise quite how dangerous his activity is as he rolls down the road.

He has no method of braking as he lies back on the board and would likely be unable to move out of the way at any speed.

The boy is also at risk at oncoming cars in the opposite lane as he can have no real way of steering.

He is completely at the mercy of the sloping hill and the whim of the skateboard itself.

If he managed to hurl himself out of the path of a car in time there is grass to one side.

However, the green is on a steep slope so he’d most probably take a nasty tumble if he fell in that direction.

It is not clear where in the world the alarming image was photographed or what happened to the boy.

The Google user has no choice but to speculate as to what could have befallen him, and anticipate it was nothing unpleasant.

While there is still hope the careless youth escaped the incident unscathed, some people have been captured in unmistakably sticky situations.

One such Google shot has captured a man undergoing a mortifying moment in his life – as well as a very sore one.

Google Maps: The weird and wonderful things caught on camera

He has been photographed just as he is hurled off his bike into the middle of a busy road surrounded by traffic.

The man can be seen sprawled across the tarmac as he throws out an arm to protect himself from the impact of the fall.

His bike has tumbled to the tarmac to the right of him as he was hurled to the ground.

A silver car can be seen just in front of the poor man, suggesting the vehicle could have played a role in the incident.

However, a pedestrian walking along the left-hand side pavement of the road did not turn around, potentially eradicating the possibility of a collision.

Perhaps the cyclist had an unfortunately timed wobble and simply fell off his two wheels.
